Minara ("we," "our," "the app") helps you find mosques, follow community events, and stay connected with your masjid. This page explains what information we collect, why, and how it's handled.
| Data | Why we collect it |
|---|---|
| Name (or kunyah) | Displayed on posts you make and shown in your profile. |
| Email address | Used to sign you in and to verify your account. |
| Precise location | Used to show mosques and events near you and to calculate accurate prayer times. You can decline location access and enter your city manually instead. |
| Photos you choose to upload | Used only for cover photos on events or mosque profiles you post. |
| Content you post | Community updates, reflections, and event RSVPs you create in the app. |
| Push notification token | Used to send you prayer time reminders and updates from mosques you follow. You can disable notifications in your device settings at any time. |
We do not collect payment information, browsing history outside the app, or contacts. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not sell or share it with data brokers or advertising networks.
Minara is built on Google Firebase, which stores and processes this data on our behalf as our infrastructure provider — not as an independent third party. Firebase's own security and privacy practices are described at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Minara is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
